WO Sports launched a healthy lifestyle in partnership with Woodside Primary Academy, Tuesday 12th of May 2018. I would like to thank the all the Parents, Pupils, Teaching and Support Staff of Woodside Primary Academy for their support towards the launch. Special thanks to the Deputy Head Charlotte who was involved in the planning and the PE Department for their help in planning and delivery and ensuring that the day was a success.
This was our second launch and the first in the Borough of Waltham Forest. In April 2016, We launch a healthy lifestyle programme at Tyssen Community Primary School with the help Michelle Amooty and Shabana where Ioan was discovered and later joined Leyton Orient FC Academy as an U8 player. Since joining the O’s he has become a better and exciting kid to watch with Lots of interest from four premiership clubs.
WO Sports would be delivering a healthy lifestyle programme at Woodside Primary Academy for the next five weeks where pupils will be learning healthy living. Pupils will be learning different topic each week to ensure their understanding and participation. The first week of the programme is delivered alongside with Michelle Mina(Nutritionist) who was at our Soccer school with Dr Mahmuda.
This programme is designed to increase life expectancy of kids, Improve health and also to promote physical activities among young children due to the alarming rate of sugar consumption in our diets which have lead to increase in child obesity rate,
mental health, lack of confidence, heart attack and other chronic diseases.
By the end of the programme, We hope that pupils would have had an increased knowledge of health and wellbeing and continuous physical activities for the rest of their lives.
And also, big thanks to Tesco, Asda and Morrison for their donations towards the event. We have also been nominated by Tesco for the bag of Help to deliver more healthy lifestyle programmes in Schools. Thanks to Arsenal, Leyton Orient FC and St. John’s Ambulance for their support and donations towards the raffle and the event. We hope more talents will discovered through this programme.
