On Tuesday the 8th of March 2016, The U7s, U8s and U9s took on Leyton Orient FC Academy at Score Centre. It was their first game since playing Watford FC Academy in January, It was a mixed ability team. Kids were excited about the game telling all their friends in school and their class teachers. The match was a complete contrast to one they experienced against Watford FC, We had a team talk in the changing room and lecture about the game and expectations from each kid.
A total of 14 kids were taken to the game so that every child have a feel of the atmosphere as for some, that was their match with us. We agreed to play a 6v6 match, two pitches and 2 subs.
Kids arrived early at the ground at around 5pm which was the meeting time, players sat at the reception with their mates and parents. We later took them to the changing room for talk and expectations and the left the changing room for the pitch to have a good warm up.
We played 5 halfs of 20 mins match for squad rotation which went really well. The game was played in high intensity with lots of energy which they rose to the occasion. The kids were well supported by their parents which I was really happy with and the kids as well. Some of our boys stood out and they will be invited to join Leyton Orient Academy.
After the final whistle went, kids were still asking for more match in the freezing weather forgetting that they had school the following day. Many thanks to Parents for bringing their kids early and showing support and also big thanks to Leyton Orient FC Academy for inviting us to play against their Academy.
