Despite not having played a game since Boxing Day, Ryman League Division One North club Waltham Forest have not been idle.
With the cancellation of their game on the Friday before New Year against Grays Athletic, because of a waterlogged pitch, manager Wale Ojelabi has been busy overseeing the movement of some players in and out of the club.
Leaving are midfield players Lukemann Mojeed, who has moved to the Kent coast to join Ryman Division One South side Ramsgate, and Josh Bonnett, second highest scorer at the club so far, who has joined Walton & Hersham in the same division.
Coming in to the club is former goalkeeper Eric Barratt – formerly known as Eric Pudaloff – who is now in his third spell with the club. He will act as cover for first choice keeper Aaron Ormand.
England Futsal international Barratt’s work commitments mean he is not always available for games, but, having played for both Enfield 1893 and Enfield Town as well as two spells for Forest, his experience will be invaluable, if his services are required.
Forest have also recruited two Dagenham & Redbridge academy players to fill the midfield void.
Ellis Sands has arrived, having also been on the academy books of Tottenham Hotspur and Southend United. He has also played one game for league rivals Redbridge.
Lewis Frost has also joined. He previously played at another of Forest`s league rivals, Brentwood Town.
All three players should be in the squad for Forest’s home game against Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.
